What is a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering degree?

The Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering (MSME) program at St. Ambrose University blends traditional mechanical and electrical engineering with control systems and software.  The MSME program will prepare recent engineering graduates to work in the rapidly evolving field of advanced manufacturing and product design.

Why earn a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering?

Students will develop applicable engineering skills in industrial autonomous systems, including mechanics, electronics, machine learning, and robotics. Along with this, you will receive an individualized plan of study to be set up for success within the program. Students with a degree in other engineering disciplines or engineering technology are eligible to apply.

What you’ll learn in your Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering program

In our Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering program, you’ll learn about manufacturing and the process of designing products. You will also develop applicable engineering skills in industrial autonomous systems, as well as project management, leadership, and integrated learning skills.

  • Document automated systems and maintain operating processes.  
  • Automate a mechanical process using appropriate sensors and control logic. 
  • Design autonomous systems by integrating simulation and machine learning. 
  • Communicate with and lead engineering teams.

How much does a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering cost?

What are the admission requirements for the MSME program?

Start your Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering career at St. Ambrose. Here are the admission requirements for our MSME:

  • An undergraduate degree from an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering program.  Degrees from other ABET-accredited engineering disciplines or engineering technology are encouraged to apply.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Submit a cover letter addressing intent, goals, and any current qualifications or experience level
  • Submit all relevant transcripts from previous undergraduate and graduate institutions
