What is a public relations and strategic communication degree?

Our BA in Public Relations and Strategic Communication program focuses on developing students' abilities to craft compelling brand and journalistic storytelling, engaging audiences through social media and other platforms. What you’ll learn in your PR and strategic communication program

Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll dive deeper into communication theory and learn how to apply it in practice. Faculty will help equip you with the skills to work in a variety of PR and marketing environments. 

  • Mastery of industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, content management systems, and customer relationship management platforms
  • Excellence in communications writing focusing on information gathering and adherence to professional style
  • Master of development branded content, managing the HIVE’s online media platform, and the ability to create compelling PR campaigns.
  • Mastery of campaign development using research and planning techniques
  • Ability to understand and practically apply communication theory to PR practice

What are the admission requirements for a BA in PR and Strategic Communication?

  • You must have graduated from an accredited high school or earned a GED
  • You must have a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 2.5
