At St. Ambrose University, we offer several housing options for undergraduate students. Living on campus helps students build meaningful connections while enjoying easy access to academic resources and co-curricular activities. In fact, more than half of SAU’s upperclassmen continue to live on campus after their first year. Here are six simple ways to make the most out of living on the SAU campus.
- Attend Events and Activities: Participate in floor meetings, social gatherings, and events that St. Ambrose offers. With more than 70 clubs and organizations to choose from, there are endless ways to get involved. The Campus Activities Board hosts free movie nights, trivia, giveaways, and major events like Homecoming.
- Engage with Floormates and Neighbors: At SAU, we foster a sense of belonging, where everyone is welcomed and supported. This starts in our dorm rooms — be kind and understanding to everyone on your floor to create a sense of belonging and purpose.
- Build a Positive Roommate Relationship: Living on campus is where life-long friendships are forged. Open communication, mutual respect, and shared interests are a hallmark of a positive residence life experience.
- Prioritize Wellbeing and Academic Life: Find a good balance between your personal downtime and your social life. Prioritizing sleep will help you thrive academically and personally. And SAU is here to help with whatever you need. From counseling and health services to academic support services, at SAU you’ll feel supported and empowered to reach your goals.
- Embrace Opportunities: Ambrosians are encouraged to embrace tension by challenging yourself academically and personally. Engage in curious debate in the classroom, and embrace new challenges and experiences through athletics, the arts, and student clubs.
- Find a Study Nook: Find a quiet spot in your residence hall where you can focus on your studies and boost your academic performance. Many of our residence halls offer lounge spaces, and every room includes a spacious desk. SAU also offers an excellent library with private rooms for both group work and individual study.
