Green Life is SAU’s environmental club for the purpose of educating and spreading awareness of environmental concerns from a local to worldwide level. Our mission is to promote an environmentally-friendly lifestyle. We are part of SAU’s Sustainability Committee promoting stewardship of the natural environment.
Green Life has hosted several campus-wide cleanups, as well as food drives in each residence hall. Last year's results came in at 1,200 lbs of food for the Riverbend Food Bank. We also host roundtable discussions, films series, and book clubs. Additionally, Green Life members maintain campus vegetable gardens, host Sustainability Fest on Earth Day, and lead hikes at area parks. Members also go “plogging” (picking up litter while jogging) to also encourage students to get involved.
