Dr. Lorri Glover has published several books concerning gender in colonial America and the American revolution. Her most recent work, Eliza Lucas Pinckney: An Independent Woman in the Age of Revolution (Yale University Press, 2020), is a biography that examines how Pinckney fit into and challenged the expectations of a southern woman during the colonial period. Glover's research demonstrates how women in early America regularly subverted social conventions.
