New Look, New Voice: ‘New’ St. Ambrose Website

12/13/2017

St. Ambrose University debuted a new look and an engaging new voice for its website this fall.

This redesigned website has a streamlined focus on prospective students, families, alumni, and friends of the University.

Website design firm Barkley REI worked with the SAU Communications and Marketing Office to develop the new look and focus.

"What Barkley helped us convey to prospective students and families is what all of us at Ambrose have always known, which is that SAU is an inclusive institution of higher learning that focuses on the whole student: mind, body, and soul," said James Loftus, PhD, vice president for enrollment management.

The new site features more profiles of students and alumni sharing their commitment to SAU's mission and values; greater use video and larger images; prominent call-outs to unique academic program features; and clear paths on every page to encourage prospective students and their families to visit campus, get more information and apply.

"I think visitors will be impressed with this new, modern look," said Adam Bickle, director of web applications. "The style allows us to take advantage of technology that didn't exist during the last major website makeover."

Some new features of sau.edu include:

  • A searchable calendar
  • Responsive design across all devices
  • Embedded video and slideshows

"The website is our front door to many new visitors," Loftus said. "We think this fresh approach will tell prospective students and visitors, ‘We are happy you stopped by. Please come in. We think you're going to like what you discover.'"
