Legacy Theatre Celebration

For many years, the St. Ambrose Theatre Department has been incredibly lucky to have staff members that are dedicated to student success and helping their students shine on and off stage. Unfortunately, the department will be saying farewell to Dr. Corinne Johnson, Dianne Dye, and Kristofer Eitrheim as they will be retiring from their careers at SAU after this 2022 Spring semester.

Throughout the years, Johnson, Dye, and Eitrheim have been an inspiration to their students so the announcement of their retirement was hard to swallow for past and present students alike.

"I was very upset when I heard about their retirement," said junior Peyton Reese. "Their legacy here at St. Ambrose is an incredible one and it is sad to see that legacy end."

While the SAU Theatre Department is sad to see them go, we want to pay homage to their legacy and all of the wonderful things they have done for the St. Ambrose University Theatre Department. So, on Saturday, June 11 at the Galvin Fine Arts Center, there will be a Theatre Legacy Celebration to celebrate the amazing careers of Johnson, Dye, and Eitrheim. The doors to the event will open at 6 p.m. with a program, reception, and drinks to follow at 6:40 p.m. Organized by SAU Theatre Department alumni Kimberly Kurtenbach '96, this event will be the perfect opportunity to honor the careers of these amazing educators. Or, as Kris Eitrheim says, "Have a beer with my students."

This event is open to all current and former students from the Theatre Department or anyone that wants to come celebrate these fantastic human beings! The SAU Theatre Department is sad to see such incredible staff members go but we are excited to celebrate them and all they have done. We hope you will join us on June 11!
