Day of Giving 2019 Results

The 2019 SAU Day of Giving on April 23, named 500BEES2DAY, took charitable giving to another level this year with 513 gifts and raising nearly $40,000 in 24 hours.

This year's initiative to double last year's goal of 250 donors was to let all alumni know that every gift makes a difference.

"The gifts that have a lot of zeros after the number get a lot of attention, which can make many alums feel that their small gift doesn't matter," said Margaret Babbitt, Director of Annual Giving. "But the reality is that the number AND amount of donations are equally important."

This year, the Office of Advancement used a new website that offered 10 ways for donors to support St. Ambrose. The site also showed the number of donors and dollars in real time.

"We want our alumni to know that annual giving is the backbone of the university," said Babbitt, "and that we encourage Ambrosians to give back to what meant the most to them."

The 2020 Day of Giving will be held on April 21, 2020.
