Circle K (CKI) is a worldwide service organization on college campuses and is affiliated with Kiwanis International.
At SAU, we complete service projects throughout the year, receive leadership training, and network with the business community via five Kiwanis Clubs in the Quad Cities.
We also enjoy weekly fellowship with one another and raise money to support the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation, The Eliminate Project (eradication of pre-natal tetanus), UNICEF, and other worthy groups.
We participate in Kids Against Hunger by packing dozens of meals each semester; collect hundreds of books for Better World Books to promote literacy around the world; volunteer for the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity; and host an annual Halloween Trivia Night which has raised thousands of dollars for The Children's Therapy Center and University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
That's not all! Every spring and fall, we offer 'Rent-A-Student' and complete odd jobs around the house, yard, or office including (but not limited to) raking leaves, picking up sticks, pulling weeds, minor painting, cleaning garages or basements, and washing windows.
In exchange for a job well done, we ask for a donation to help us with our international dues, club activities, and donations to groups such as UNICEF and Better World Books.
