Admission Requirements


At Ambrose, we understand that making the decision to further your education through graduate studies is an investment personally, professionally, and financially. All of us in the MSCJ Program are ready to help you through the admissions process.

Admission Procedure

Students with an accredited baccalaureate degree may apply for admission to the program.

1. For students who did not earn their bachelor's degree from SAU:

  • Complete the SAU application
  • Include a professional goals statement
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Request from your undergraduate institution that a complete and official transcript be sent directly to the Graduate Admissions Office. An official copy is one sent from the institution directly to St. Ambrose University and should include any graduate course work

2. For SAU students:

  • Complete the SAU application
  • Permission of Program Director
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Complete all General Education requirements in Fundamental Skills, Liberal Arts Perspective, and Catholic Intellectual Tradition

Transfers

St. Ambrose University will accept a maximum of six graduate credits from an accredited college or university if

  • the credits were earned within the last five years,
  • the final grade was at least a B,
  • and the course is determined relevant to the MCJ program.
