The students wrote papers responding to Pierre Manent's book, Metamorphoses of the City, contributing arguments of their own on topics such as Cicero's assimilation of Greek political thought to the Roman context; historical developments in the idea of public morality; and the significance of modern political philosophy's denial that human beings are political animals.

In the summer of 2018, Dr. Hebert will be working with three other students on a project entitled "Utopian Ethics: Classical and Modern Views."
