St. Ambrose University will present "Cutting Edge Research About Media's Effects on Children: what education and health care professionals need to know."

The conference is free and open to the public.
The morning session will focus on the effects of media on school readiness and academic performance, with the afternoon covering social-behavioral effects, including what has been termed "video game addiction."
Doug Gentile from Iowa State, Ames, will present. Continuing education credits are available for nurses, psychologists and social workers. Early childhood teachers are eligible for three training hours.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Iowa Psychological Foundation, Scott County Kids, Iowa State University Extension and Genesis Health System.
