Charles “Chuck” Schrader, who coached in the St. Ambrose football program for several years in the 1990s, died on Tuesday, July 8 in Dekalb, Ill.
Coach Schrader served as an assistant coach, and as the head coach for one season. His head coaching tenure in the mid-’90s was cut short by heart problems. When he returned to the program after heart surgery, he served as an assistant coach to Todd Sturdy. Coach Schrader retired from St. Ambrose in 1998.
Memorial services were held Friday, July 11 in Dekalb.
