St. Ambrose chaplain Rev. Charles "Chuck" Adam writes,
"The following letter arrived today from a soldier. Students from the group Ambrosians for Peace and Justice had written her in January.
"Starting with Martin Luther King Day and including the anniversary of Roe v. Wade this student group observed an entire week of prayer, discussion and action regarding every aspect of respecting human life. One of the activities involved ... writing to someone serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. For the past two years we have also mentioned by name and prayed for five soldiers killed in action at every Mass ... as a reminder to pray for peace and to remember the sacrifices of those serving, many of whom, like the writer of this letter, are peers of our students."
