The Fifties
Lawrence Smith '58 retired after 30 years at Upjohn Pharmaceuticals in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He had worked as a business communications manager specializing in new product communications development. He is an active volunteer in the Portage, Michigan, community as a member of the Senior Center Advisory Board and is entering his fourth year teaching a calligraphy course at the senior center.

The Sixties
Jim Hyldahl '64 retired from UBS Financial as a senior vice president in December. He is a board member for Guide Dogs of America, and has served as president and is a member of the Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo, California.

John Zang '65 resides in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where he is active with the local Knights of Columbus council, serving as the director for the intellectually disabled.

Patrick Foley '66 returned to Europe settling in Berlin, where his wife Mari is pastor of the American Church.

Since retirement, Rev. Robert McAleer '67 continues to serve local parishes. He enjoys traveling and preaching for UNBOUND, a poverty program. Fr. McAleer serves as a member of the St. Ambrose University Board of Trustees.

James Conroyd Martin '69 of Portland, Oregon, released his sixth historical novel, "Fortune's Child: A Novel of Empress Theodora," about a daughter of a bear keeper in sixth century Constantinople.

The Seventies
After a 45-year career in education in a variety of K-12 roles, including high school teacher, coach, associate principal, principal, district assistant superintendent and superintendent, John Perdue '71 capped his career in the Chicago suburbs as superintendent for Community Consolidated School District 89 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He currently is an executive search consultant for Hazard, Young, and Attea Associates.

Paul Staack '71 is the associate pastor at Speak the Word Church International in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He released his third book, "Do This in Remembrance of Me," which is a one-year communion devotional.

After a lengthy career in education, athletics and administration, Bob Smithson '72 retired and is residing in Mill Creek, Washington, with Mary, his wife of 52 years. He was inducted into the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Everett Community College Hall of Fame and the Cascade High School Inaugural Hall of Fame. He continues to coach in the spring and summer, providing guidance and lessons to local players and coaches.

James Carroll '74 is happily retired in Chandler, Arizona, with his wife, Sharon.

Tom Laciak '75 is retired and and volunteers for the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs in Des Moines, Iowa.

Investment Consulting Group, Inc., a company which Donald Stanforth '76 founded and serves as president, has been named to CNBC's FA 100. The company was chosen for the honor from an initial list of 35,500 financial advisory firms.

The Eighties
Vincent DeGregorio Jr. '82 retired from teaching in Catholic education and resides in the Bronx in New York City.

John Purcell '84 is the vice president of Sales OP Channel at Iconex, LLC in Duluth, Georgia.

Dirk Hansen '86 MBA has retired and will be moving to Dubuque, Iowa, from San Diego.

Brad Schaefer '87 is chief operating officer at Insurance Audit Services, Inc. in Davenport.

The Nineties
Todd Sturdy '90 is the offensive coordinator for the Northwest Missouri State football program in Maryville, Missouri.

Elizabeth (Hamilton) Guarino '91 is CEO of The Best Ever You Network. Her children's book "Pinky Doodle Dance" will be published by Waldorf Publishing this fall. It follows "Pinky Doodle Bug," published in 2011.

Kelli Hoag '94 is a senior producer at WHBF-TV.

Brent Honnold '96 is the LIMS Administrator at Kemin Industries in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Zeros
Lt. Jeff Ramsey '00 has been named police chief in East Moline, Illinois. Ramsey began his tenure with the East Moline Police Department in 2001 as a patrol officer and has been the detective commander of the investigation division since 2017.

Katie Spain '02 is the senior vice president of information technology at Northwest Bank & Trust in Davenport.

Adam O'Reel '03 is the division chair of physical education, drivers education and health at Plainfield East High School in Plainfield, Illinois. He also is the head baseball coach.

Brooke (Evans) Street '03, '06 MBA accepted a position as senior program manager, access to care for the American Cancer Society in Springfield, Missouri.

Erin Siebers '05 is the simulation training specialist at Maine Medical Center in Topsham, Maine.

Matt Tranowski '06 is the relationship manager of public funds at Northern Trust Company in Chicago.

Deanna (Hutcherson) West '07 MOL is the manager HR Operations for John Deere NA Parts Distribution Center in Milan, Illinois.

David Adams '08 is a staff psychologist for student counseling services at Illinois State University. Adams was recognized at the 2019 Illinois State University student affairs ceremony for "Excellence in Assessment" and as the "Outstanding New Staff Member."

Alexandra (Doerfer) Dirck '09 is program manager for American Rental Association in Moline, Illinois.

Jared Kannenberg '09 is director of Day and Community Services for The Arc of the Quad Cities Area in Rock Island, Illinois.

Alterman Law Group in Portland, Oregon, is pleased to announce Erica Menze '09 is a shareholder in the firm. She is active in the Commercial Real Estate Women Portland division and is a Fellow of the Real Property, Trusts, and Estates Section of the American Bar Association.

The Teens
Alan Hartley '11 MEA is the principal at Williams Intermediate in the Davenport School District.

David Gonzalez '12 is a behavioral health clinician at UnityPoint Health-Illinois Institute of Addiction Recovery in Peoria. He serves as a board member for the NAMI Peoria Tri-County area.

Anton Wilkins '13 has been named the new head men's basketball coach at River Road Independent School District in Amarillo, Texas.

Tyler Mitchell '14 is the marketing and development coordinator at The Project of the Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois.

David Francis '15 is the campus recreation aquatics and facilities coordinator at Iowa State University.

Patricia Tracy '15 is a sales support specialist at Vermeer Corporation in Pella, Iowa.

Heidi Wilder-Packard '15 is a digital marketing specialist for Kolbe Windows and Doors in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Lauren Crew '16 is a digital content arsonist at MindFire Communications in LeClaire, Iowa.

Kat Kaczmarzyk '16 is media operations manager for Feld Entertainment in Palmetto, Florida.

Lindsey Katzman '16 is program inventory coordinator at Halo Branded Solutions in Sterling, Illinois.

Madison Rolling '16 received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in December of 2019.

Kathleen Gay '17 is a parent liaison for Rockford (Illinois) Public Schools.

Adam Hutton '17 is the development director for principal giving at Saint Louis University.

Jessica Thomas '17 is a physician assistant at Family Medicine of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Kaylee Golden '18 was promoted to the director of marketing and community relations for the Quad Cities River Bandits in Davenport.

Trevor Hatcher '18 is an assistant baseball coach at St. Ambrose University.

Allissa (Carr) Hawk '18, '19 MCJ is working in the Services Division for the Davenport Police Department.

A.J. Engelsen '19 is a graduate student at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication.

Kristin Enright '19 joined the staff at MindFire Communications in LeClaire, Iowa, as Marketing Arsonist and Account Coordinator.

Joshua Fleming '19 is a security, privacy and risk consultant at RSM in Davenport.

Rebecca Moews '19 is working on the TV crew at Prairie Meadows Racetrack in Des Moines, Iowa. She also performs on stage as an assistant in the Ben Ulin Magic Show at neighboring Adventureland.
